City of Monticello

Numerous annual festivals take place in Monticello, such as the Annual Deer Festival, held in November; the Annual Shady Dale Rodeo, held in June; and the Annual Piedmont Classic Horse Show, held in April.

According to 2000 Census, the City of Monticello had a population of 2,428 persons. Between 1990 and 2000, the city experienced a population increase of 6.1%, compared to the state growth during this period of 26.4%.
